New baby boy due December 22nd

Well summer is pretty much over, and we are all doing well. The boys are about to start preschool in September. This will be a new school for Matt and his last year before Kindergarten. For Drew this will be his first time in school. Matt will be going Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, while Drew will going only on Tuesday and Thursday. I'm excited for them. As for me, I am now 21 weeks pregnant with our third boy. We are super excited, but can't decide on a name for this sweet guy. I'm feeling him move a lot now, and Jeff felt him kick for the first time this past Saturday. That was super exciting! I'll post some pictures from this summer when I have access to Jeff's computer. I'll also post some pictures of our next sonogram next week after we go. I also know some of you have wanted some pregger pics, so I'll post them too. I pray you all are doing well. Love from Frisco.

Long overdue update

Well, it has been quite a while since I have updated the blog. I figured, since it was my birthday it would be a good time to update what has been going on in our lives. Well, let's start with Matt...he is doing great. He just turned 4 a couple of weeks ago, and this mama is having a hard time coming to terms that my baby isn't a baby anymore. He still goes to school two days a week and really enjoys his time there. He know most of his letters and letter sounds and his numbers too. He is so sweet too! He is always my kiddo that is concerned with others and is very polite too. I just got a note in his folder from school that said he had good manners. Just what this mommy likes to hear. He will tell you his best friend is Drew, but loves to play with his other friends as well. He is so much fun now and I love the silly things he says all the time. They had a wonderful time with Christmas this year and even got to talk to Santa (my dad) on the phone this year. So cool! Or as Matt would say...Super cool! Lately everything has been super. Super tired, super smart, super hungry, super pretty. You get the idea. Matt is certainly my senstitive child. He had almost a month of time enjoying having my sister home for the holidays. When it was time for her to leave it was Matt that heart breakingly upset. He just cried and asked her to stay or if he go with her. My sister and I just stood there trying to comfort this sweet boy. I love that he loves his Aunt so much! In a week we will be going to Matt's performance for his TOTS which is a basketball skills program he does at school. We are all praying he gets more into it than his Christmas concert for school where he just stood there and did nothing. I don't think he will become a performing artist, but that is okay. He is awesome just being him!!

As for Drew, he is my little mini me. He is fun and sweet as can be, but has a stubborn streak in him! Wonder where in the world he got that from. Ha ha. We had him almost potty trained, but have taken a step back because it was becoming a daily battle and let's just say mommy and daddy were not winning. We will be attempting potty training again soon, but mama needed a break. He is starting a class at My Gym and he really seems to like it. We have also signed him up for preschool for next year. I know he will love that. However, he has been told he can't go to school until he can go pee and poo in the potty. We'll see how that goes. We have until September, so I am confident. Drew is a talker too. He talks all the time andis sure he is the same age as Matt. At least he thinks he can do anything his brother can do....and often times he can. He often amazes me with things he knows. For instance, at Matt's party my mom asked him if he liked the swordfish on the wall. He confidently looked at her and said, "It's not a swordfish, it is a Marlin." So my parents looked it up on their phones, and it was a marlin. Don't ask me how he knew that. I sure didn't know that. He is my daredevil. He doesn't look quite like Drew if he doesn't have some sort of bruise or bump on him. However, the other day, I guess he wanted to share the wealth so he gave his brother and shiner by hitting him in the face with the toddler bible. As a friend said...gives new meaning to the team bible beater. He is certainly fun. I love that my boys love each other so much. When they aren't together they always ask where the other is and want to be together. I pray it stays this way, but will enjoy it as long as it lasts!

As for Jeff and I, we are doing well. As I said today is my birthday. I am officially in my upper 30's, but really this is the happiest time in my life so far. I am truly blessed beyond words. I will write more later when I have more time. I will also post some pictures later this weekend. Love to all and I pray your 2011 has begun well, and continues to be a wonderful year for you.

It's been a while

Well, the boys are doing great. In fact we just recently moved them into the same room. Matt is in his twin sized bed, and Drew is in his toddler bed. We made the move somewhat out of necessity. Drew learned how to crawl out of his crib, and so a move to a toddler bed was in the works. However, the decision to move him into Matt's room was made because Drew's room was not "Drew-proofed", where Matt's room was safe. They now have slept 3 nights together and they do great. Matt was happy to have Drew share the room and Drew is more than thrilled to be with his brother. We actually had them nap together today. It took about 10 times of me reminding them it was quiet time and they had to remain in their beds, but they eventually both took naps. It is really quite sweet to see them in the room together. We are still deciding if this is going to be a long term thing or not.

Drew will be 2 in less than a month and he is talking up a storm. He uses 3 word sentences and repeats most things you say...so we need to be very careful. He is a total monkey....climbing up and over, and on anything he can. It is a normal day for him to have several bumps on him. He has no sense of fear...which is kinda scary. He doesn't cry much when he is hurt, but will wail when he is upset. This kid has a temper that I didn't see in Matt. He is a lot more like his mama. God help us all. But overall, this kid is way fun, and you never know what he will do next. He keeps me on my toes! I love him, love him, love him!!!

As for Matt, he is doing great at school. It is hard to believe that he almost finished his first year in preschool. He is coming out of his shell at school and is pretty much totally potty trained. He is 3, so we do have the occastional accident, but it is VERY rare! He loves to help me, and tries to mommy his brother all the time, telling him what he can and can't do. He often is happy to tell me when Drew needs to go to time out. Isn't that helpful....NOT! He is so much like his daddy, not only in looks, but also in his quiet and gentle personality. He is a fun kid and such a joy!

As for Jeff and I, we are doing great. In less than a month we will celebrate our 7 year anniversary. Hard to believe! I love him more now than I did then, so I count that as a major blessing. We pray you all are doing well. Sorry it has been so long since we have updated the blog. We love you all and pray all is well with you. Love from Frisco.

My baby boy is 3 today!

Well, for some reason it seems so....well I don't even the word I am looking foward to, but I am amazed that my sweet Matthew is 3 today. Where oh where does the time go? He is talking up a storm and is just such a sweet guy. Well, most of the time at least. He is doing well at school, is 99% potty trained (we have a few accidents from time to time, but he is in underwear 100% of the time, so an accident here or there is not a biggie!) He is a truely amazing guy!

We had a fun, yet understated celebration today. We had a small family party at Chuck E. Cheese's. We pretty much threw it together at the last minute, but it was great. Both of the boys had a great time. It was so much fun to watch them get so excited about all the games, seeing Chuck E. Cheese in person, and just enjoying the place. They loved the pizza and the cake and Matt loved opening his presents. He even got to open some presents from family members who weren't able to be with us. Overall it was a great party. We also got to celebrate with a smaller party at home when the boy's Aunt Tania was in town. We had some yummy cookies and had a fun time celebrating.

Christmas was also a lot of fun! We celebrated with a white Christmas this year....not very normal for the DFW area. Although it was pretty, it did keep us from going to the Christmas Eve service...which I missed. I think my anxiety on the drive home from Church on Christmas eve may have inadvertently led to Matthew's fear of snow. He was totally freaked out from step one. He absolutely refused to go outside while there was snow on the ground unless I held him. This is a major deal if you know Matt. He would live outside if I let him. Well, not in the snow apearently. Drew didn't mind the snow as much. I guess being younger he didn't pick up on his mommy's fears. In my defense though....there were cars in ditches and slipping and sliding all over the place...so I was justified being freaked out. However, I now realize that Matthew especially is very sensative to my reactions to things, so I must be more careful in the future.

We had a house full of doggies for the week after Christmas. My parents went up to DC to see my uncle and his family, so we babysat Sam, their dog. We also had my sister's new puppy Shanti, and then our dog Sadie. As you can imagine...it was crazy with the 3 pups and the boys. However, we had a blast and the boys were in heaven with all the doggies. However, with all the snow melting....our backyard was a mudpit and with 3 dogs...our floors were a bit worse for the wear after all was said and done. I know now that the dogs and Aunt Tania have all returned home, it is much quieter...but we miss them all very much!

Overall, it has been a great holiday and birthday celebrations. I pray that 2010 is a wonderful year for you all. We love you and pray you are all well. Love from Frisco.
